San Diego suffered from a frontal weather system passing through the night before the race.
For tactical reasons Frank made his technicians change the propeller again.
At 13:00 hrs LT he took off for the elimination. A super fast time was put on the clock during the first lap of the track.
7 (seven) seconds faster than qualification day. Unfortunately Frank had to discontinue his flight as a bird almost hit his canopy.
The result was a DNF (Did Not Finish).
This happens during racing. A good decision for safety reasons. Safety, always comes first. |
