Dear Friends, we had lovely snowy conditions in The Netherlands. Okay, okay, not like in Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Finland, Norway but we had 10 cm\'s of snow.
This meteorological drama caused a lot of publicity again. The news stations decided to create a nightmare situation.
Of course there was no nightmare, but the media wanted to beleive the Dutchies that drama would happen soon.
10 cm\'s of snow. Delays in the railsystem, traffic jams of 500 km\'s at the road. (Maximum we saw was less that half of what the media wanted us to beleive). 60 extra crew were hired to de-ice the aircrafts at Schiphol. Have a look at the pictures of my foto album. :-)
It has been the 4th time that Holland was shocked by a weather alarm. And it has been the 4th time that it was a complete over-reaction.
I am worried, really worried about this development. The Dutchies know very well how to behave in emergengies and if there is wind or snow, they can also handle that quite well.:-) |
